1    Pleun de ZEEUW, Boer te Middelburg bij Sioux Center, daarna te Boyden, Iowa, USA. Born on 13-05-1886 in Capel, Sioux County, Iowa, USA, died on 13-01-1973 in Orange City, Sioux County, Iowa, USA at the age of 86, buried in Sioux County, Iowa, USA. Mr. Pleun De Zeeuw passed away January 13 in Orange City at the age of 86 years. On March 9, 1910 in Middleburg, he was united in marriage to Jennie Wiersma who preceded him in death on May 13, 1964.

To this union two children were born: Anna, Mrs. Peter Leusink of Orange City; and Kathryn, Mrs. Joe Zoet of Hull. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Peter De Zeeuw of Sheldon; Rufus De Zeeuw of Holland, Minnesota; William De Zeeuw of Ruthven, Minn.; Mrs. Johanna Groen of Orange City; and Mrs. Cornie Den Hartog of Orange City.

He was preceded in death by one brother, four sisters, and two grandchildren; Harlan Leusink on Dec. 31, 1963 and Henry Leusink on June 7, 1941. Peter Leusink, son-in-law also preceded him in death.

Mr. De Zeeuw had retired from the farm and in March of 1949 moved to Hull. He was a member of The First Reformed Church of Hull. His passing is mourned by many friends and relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pleun De Zeeuw, 76, of Hull, who died Wednesday at her home here, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the First Reformed Church of Hull. The Rev. Nickolas Rozeboom officiated. Interment was in the Middleburg Cemetery. The funeral arrangements were by the Vander Ploeg funeral home of Sioux Center.

Mrs. De Zeeuw, nee Wiersma, was born March 11, 1888, at Sioux Center. A lifelong resident of Sioux Count, she was married to Pleun De Zeeuw on March 9, 1910. at Orange City.

Survivors include the widower; two daughters, Mrs. Peter Leusink of Orange City, and Mrs. Joe Zoet of Hull, and four grandchildren.

2    Pleun Arie (Henry) de ZEEUW, born on 27-04-1855 in Ridderkerk, Zuid-Holland, died on 16-04-1929 in Sioux County, Iowa, USA at the age of 73, buried in Sioux County, Iowa, USA, son of Pleun de ZEEUW (see also 4) and Elizabeth de HAAN (see also 5).

3    Antje van VELDHUIZEN, born on 07-02-1859 in Zeeland, Ottawa County, Michigan, USA, died on 28-08-1943 in Orange City, Sioux County, Iowa, USA at the age of 84, buried in Sioux County, Iowa, USA. Mrs. Pleun De Zeeuw, 84 passed away at her home Saturday, August 28 after a 10 day illness.

She was born in Michigan Feb. 7, 1859 and came to Sioux county with her parents when a child.

She was raised on a farm northeast of Orange City. On Nov. 29, 1881 she was married to Pleun De Zeeuw of Orange City.

The couple lived on a farm north of Orange City and continued there for for many years moving to Middleburg some years prior to his death which occurred April 20, 1929.

After her husband's death Mrs. De Zeeuw made her residence in Orange City.

Survivors are the 11 children, Elizabeth, Mrs. Egbert De Leeuw of Orange City; Jake De Zeeuw of Sheldon; Pleun De Zeeuw of Boyden; Jennie, Mrs. Jake Verrips of Sioux Center; Helen, Mrs. John Hubbling of Whittier, California; Anna, Mrs. Bert Keizer of Orange City; Peter De Zeeuw of Sheldon; William De Zeeuw of Ruthon, Minn., Rufus De Zeeuw of Holland, Minn., Johanna, Mrs. John Groen of Orange City; Magdalena, Mrs. Cornie Den Hartog of Orange City. There are 63 grandchildren and 34 great.grandchildren, 2 sisters Mrs. Isaac Herwynen of Orange City and Mrs. Lane Van der Bosch of Rock Valley, 2 brothers, Wm. Van Veldhuizen of Orange City and Henry Van Veldhuizen of Boyden.

Funeral services were held in the First Ref. church on Tuesday with Rev. H. Colenbrander officiating. Interment was made in the Middleburg cemetery. Daughter of Jacob van VELDHUIZEN (see also 6) and Jannetje (Jane) ROODHUIZEN (see also 7).
