GR (AP) - Lt. Richard H. Wiersema, 58, a 19-year veteran at the Kent County Sheriff's Department, died Monday after an apparent heart attack at his home.

Kent Radio Chief Dies
Lt. R. H. Wiersema Deputy 19 Years
Lt. Richard H. Wiersema, 58, of 4160 Bell Ave. NE., radio chief for the Kent County Sheriff's Department, was dead on arrival Monday morning at Butterworth Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack at home." Lt. Wiersema, a native of Grand Rapids, had been a sheriff's officer 19 years. He was a detective before being placed in charge of radio equipment seven years ago. Was Ham Officer He was a member of Arcadia Christian Reformed Church. He also was treasurer and former president of the Grand Rapids Amateur Radio Association and was a member of the Associated Police Communications Officers, which has state and national organizations. Surviving are his wife, Katherine; a son, Wayne; 12; two daughters, Linda, 9, and Mary Beth. 5: his step-mother, Mrs. Henry Wiersema of Grand Rapids, and a sister, Mrs. Andrew Doorn of Alto. WARFEL, geboren 1825 te Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA, overleden op 25-02-1886 te Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA, begraven te Highville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA. The son of Adam Warfle, he married Elizabeth Herr or Hare, but she died of consumption in 1853. He then married Elizabeth Fry July 18, 1855, in Lancaster and fathered George (b. 04/15/75). In 1860, he was a laborer presumably living in or near Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, although he is not found with any certainty in that census. Then a laborer by occupation, he stood 5' 10" tall and had dark hair and gray eyes.

A Civil War veteran, he enlisted and mustered into federal service in Lancaster County March 27, 1865, as a private with Co. B, 214th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company March 21, 1866. Zoon van Adam WARFLE (zie 8) en Sara Graver ( GRÄBER) (zie 9).

8    Adam WARFLE. Adam was the son of Adam Warfel b. 9/4/1771 and Elizabeth Leiman(in) Warfel, b. 4/4/1773 . He married Sara Graver b. 8/8/1797 of Ephrata,Pa. on 11/22/1818. Adam and Sara's home was on Brenner Hollow rd. in Safe Harbor Pa. He was a mason by trade. Their children were Elizabeth,b. 10/25/1821, Samuel, b.2/7/1822, d.4/14/1912, Mary"Polly", Delilah, b. 1824, Adam, b. 1825, d.2/25/1886, Levi, b. 12/28/1827, d.12/12/1895, Urias, b.5/25/1829, d.8/10/1905, Catherine, b.12/3/1833, d.9/12/1919. Adam also fished out of the Susquehanna River, it was there that he was drowned on Oct . 24 1869 while checking his fish pots in the river. Adam Warfel b. 1825, one of the sons of this Adam, is buried in
Green Mount Cemetery, Highville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, His headstone is spelled "Adam Warfle" he is buried next to his son Samuel Warfel.
