HENRY WIERSEMA : The many friends of Henry Wiersema were grieved and shocked to learn of his sudden death, which occurred at 6:15 o'clock last evening. While shoveling snow from the walk at his home, he fell over and was taken into the house immediately. He rallied for a few minutes and then passed away. Henry Wiersema was born in Western Neland, Gronigin The Netherlands, on March 1, 1862, and died March 21, 1932 at the age of seventy years and twenty days. When twenty years of age, he came to this country and after spending two years in Michigan, he came to Fulton and made this vicinity his home until his Heavenly Father called him to his Eternal rest. On January 19, 1887, he was united in marriage to Alice Huizenga, the ceremony taking place in Fulton. To this union, thirteen children were born, two of them, however, preceded their father in death. They were; Thomas and Mary (Mrs. Arthur Maat). Besides the grief-stricken wife, he is survived by seven sons, Klaas and John of Ustick, Peter of Chadwick, Jacob of Thomson, Edward, Thomas and William of Fulton, four daughters, Mrs. R. Sterenberg (Katie) of Lyndon, Mrs. Charles Meinsma (Anna) of Fulton, Mrs. J. Eissens (Alice) of Thomson, Mrs. M. Norman (Grace) of Ustick, and thirty-nine grandchildren. One brother, Peter of MOrrison and one sister, Mrs. John Ardapple of this city also survive. His demise has brought deep sorrow into the family circle, and while they say "good night", it is with the blessed assurance that it will be "good morning" in the brighter and better world of heaven. For many years he served on the official board at the First Reformed church, and for the past two years has been an elder. He was a faithful member and a devout Christian. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the hme and 2 o'clock at the First Reformed church, the Rev. G. Van Pernis officiating. Burial will be made in the Fulton Township Cemetery. Friends are asked to omit flowers.
